Day 2: Thursday, 4 June 2020Seattle

Founded in the 1850’s, Seattle continues to evolve while preserving many of its treasured landmarks. The city’s defining modern symbol is the Space Needle. Head up to the top of the 605 foot hourglass-shaped structure for amazing panoramic views of this beautiful port city. Right next door is the Chihuly Garden and Glass where the extraordinary glassworks and garden installations of Dale Chihuly will dazzle. Stroll through the famous Pike Place Market for a taste of local flavor and style. Established in 1907, the market is brimming with fresh produce and seafood stalls, wonderful restaurants, and speciality shops with local handcrafts that make unique souvenirs and keepsakes.

In the evening, learn about Seattle’s history and the events that led to its beginnings on a walking tour of the city’s original neighbourhood, Pioneer Square. Explore the underground pathways that were built in the southwest corner of the Emerald City more than 120 years ago. Learn about Seattle’s history and the events that transformed this once-small Indigenous dwelling place into one of the most popular and thriving cities in the United States.

Day 3: Friday, 5 June 2020Seattle - Alaska Cruise

Seattle is famous for its bustling waterfront, numerous green spaces, and historic neighbourhoods. Today, you may choose to take in the city area near our hotel.

In the afternoon, check into your Veranda cabin (upgrade to Concierge or Aqua Class for additional cost). With ample indoor space, your cabin can be a private sanctuary at sea. Your personal veranda will let you greet the day, enjoy fresh sea breezes, and soak in breathtaking sunsets. Get ready for amazing views and wildlife like nowhere else as you sail through the islands of Alaska’s Inside Passage.

Day 4: Saturday, 6 June 2020At Sea - Cruise the Inside Passage

The fabled Inside Passage is considered one of the most scenic sea-lanes in the world, and one of the few where deep-draft vessels can sail close to steep mountain walls. The scenery is unbelievable, with forests in a hundred shades of green, tumbling turquoise glaciers, and evocative towns loaded with history, culture and adventure.

Spend a leisurely day on board, exploring the ship or just relaxing on your private veranda. Join your fellow group members for a morning worship and dine together for dinner.

Day 5: Sunday, 7 June 2020Ketchikan, Alaska

Ketchikan clutches the shores of the Tongass Narrows, with shops and houses built right out over the water. The town is surrounded by some of the world’s most lush wilderness. Join an optional tour or explore the town taking in Totem Poles, a view over the town from Cape Fox Lodge and a stroll along Creek Street antique boardwalk on wooden pilings over Ketchikan Creek.

Day 6: Monday, 8 June 2020Endicott Arm & Dawes Glacier

Alaska’s Endicott Arm Fjord marks the southern edge of the 653,179-acre Tracy Arm-Fords Terror Wilderness area. As you sail through its 30-mile-long stretch, you can’t help but be amazed by the untouched beauty of the surrounding granite mountains, verdant valleys and numerous waterfalls. Drifting icebergs, deep blue waters and a spectacular tidewater glacier only add to this natural spectacle’s appeal. Endicott Arm is one of the largest breeding grounds for harbor seals on the planet. Keep your eyes open for these creatures splashing in icy waters near the ship or floating with their pups on giant chunks of ice. Along the shore you might also glimpse brown bears, bald eagles, sea ducks, deer, moose and wolves. Your journey through scenic Endicott Arm Fjord ends with a front-row view of the striking Dawes Glacier. Standing over 600 feet tall and a half-mile wide, this very active icecap is known for its spectacular calving displays which noisily produce huge, chunky icebergs that float in area waters.

Day 7: Tuesday, 9 June 2020Skagway, Alaska

In a single year from 1896 to 1897, this remote town along the Inside Passage grew from a few tents to a city of 20,000 gold seekers. Today, travellers come in search of other riches – to experience yesteryear along Skagway’s charming boardwalk lined with buildings that replicate those Gold Rush days.

Take an included excursion on an unforgettable journey through rugged terrain, tunnels and valleys en route to the scenic White Pass Summit. Venture up the Yukon highway beyond the historic White Pass Route. Gaze in awe at the amazing feat of engineering that is the Yukon Railroad all tucked into a landscape that contains the precipitous cliffs, deep valleys, white water rivers, craggy granite mountains and dangerously deep valleys where wild animals roam.

After re-living the historic trail of the Gold Rush and you’ll still have time to explore the town of Skagway before re-embarking. You’ll then sail beyond the Inside Passage Cruise into the more protected Alaska Inside Passage, a complex labyrinth of fjords and bays where whales and sea lions find refuge during the summer months.

Day 8: Wednesday, 10 June 2020At Sea - Cruise

Today is a leisure day as we travel south along the coastline. Choose to meet up with the rest of the group for a friendly trivia quiz with prizes for the winners. On board, there will also be wide range of activities and experiences available. Pamper yourself with spa treatments or push yourself in a workout with an expert trainer. Take in a show, join cooking or photography classes, play deck games, watch a movie at the cinema or listen to live music.

Day 9: Thursday, 11 June 2020Victoria, British Columbia

The seaside capital of British Columbia, Victoria is located on Vancouver Island at the southern tip of Western Canada. Named after Queen Victoria, this one-time British colony has retained much of its colonial charm with decorative English gardens and castles, but also reflects its modern landscape with bohemian shops and international cuisines. The year-round moderate temperatures are perfect for exploring this incredible city.

Late afternoon, roam the spacious lawns of stunning Butchart Gardens, one of the most spectacular floral displays in Canada. Created early this century from a stone quarry, the different areas of the garden are planted so that they bloom year-round. Meander along the flower-lined paths and marvel at the brilliant composition of color in Japanese, Mediterranean, and Italian themes, plus much more.

The large waterfront park Beacon Hill Park in downtown Victoria is within walking distance of the inner harbor. With more than 200 acres, there’s a lot of ground to cover in the sprawling grounds. This unspoiled park features many walking trails through the forest and an abundance of relaxing nature.

Day 10: Friday, 12 June 2020Seattle - Vancouver

Disembark in Seattle Harbour and head north to the massive Boeing Everett Factory, the largest building in the world by volume. Your guide leads the way through this vast production space as you’re given a behind-the-scenes view of some of the world’s most famous airliners, from the gigantic Boeing 747 to the state-of-the-art 787 Dreamliner.

Drive towards the Canadian border via the scenic Chuckanut Drive, which runs through farmland and along the Puget Sound.
Arrive in Vancouver where majestic mountains, sparkling ocean, rainforests and beautiful foliage throughout all four seasons make it one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

Your sightseeing tour upon arrival includes a drive around Stanley Park with stops at interesting places, among them the famous Totem Pole Display at Brockton Point, Canada Place and the waterfront.

Day 11, Saturday, 13 June 2020Vancouver

Take a trip to a local Adventist church where you can join a worship service. Afterwards enjoy lunch at the nearby Queen Elizabeth botanical gardens. Alternatively spend a day at leisure in Vancouver.

In the evening, dine at historic Gastown, Vancouver’s oldest neighbourhood, with its 19th Century buildings, the Steam Clock, cobblestone streets and hidden passageway, souvenir shops, art and fashion studios, and trendy food scene.

Day 12: Sunday, 14 June 2020Capilano River & Grouse Mountain

Today we cross the Lions Gate Bridge to the North Shore and visit the Capilano Suspension bridge, stretching 137 meters across and 70 meters above the Capilano River. Discover the Cliffwalk, a cantilevered walkway clinging to the granite cliff high above Capilano Canyon and Treetops Adventure, seven suspension bridges through the evergreens taking you up to 30 meters above the forest floor. Next you visit Grouse Mountain, “The Peak of Vancouver”. High above towering Douglas firs, breathtaking views of the city of Vancouver, sparkling Pacific Ocean, Gulf Islands and snowy peaks unfold as you journey up the mountainside with the Skyride.

Day 13: Monday, 15 June 2020Whistler

Your journey to the resort village of Whistler starts with crossing the Lions Gate Bridge to Vancouver’s North Shore. We follow the Sea-to-Sky Highway along beautiful Howe Sound and pass through the coastal community of Britannia Beach. Next stop is Shannon Falls, composed of a series of cliffs rising 335 meters above the Highway, making it British Columbia’s third highest waterfall. Along the route see Stawamanus Chief, the second largest standing piece of granite in the world and popular rock climbing area. Enjoy the charm of the alpine, pedestrianised Whistler Village before you return to Vancouver in the afternoon.

Day 14: Tuesday, 16 June 2020Vancouver - Rocky Mountains

After a morning of free time, you will board VIA Rail’s “The Canadian” Sleeper Touring Class to Jasper National Park. Travel through the Fraser Valley then follow the mighty Thompson River on the ‘Yellowhead’ route past the sprawling grandeur of Mount Robson

Exclusive to Sleeper Touring Class: In the evening attendants transform your quarters into cozy bunks or a bedroom. Visit the Dome Car where you will experience the true essence of travelling by train as a panoramic scene sweeps by. In Sleeper Touring Class some of the amenities include thick towels, plump pillows, cozy down duvets and a shower kit. (Upgrade from a birth to a cabin for additional cost).

Day 15: Wednesday, 17 June 2020Rocky Mountains - Jasper - Lake Louise

In the afternoon, we arrive into the town of Jasper. We travel the Icefield Parkway, one of the world’s most beautiful highways. Here you find more than 100 ancient glaciers, waterfalls cascading from dramatic rock spires and turquoise lakes set in sweeping valleys. On to the town of Lake Louise with stops at Athabasca Falls, Peyto Lake and Bow Lake.

Day 16: Thursday, 18 June 2020Lake Louise - Banff & Yoho National Parks

Wake up early for sunrise over the beautiful Valley of the Ten Peaks and glacier-fed Moraine Lake – only half the size of Lake Louise, but perhaps even more scenic.

After breakfast, you journey across the Continental Divide of the America’s into Yoho National Park where you will see the Natural Bridge of Stone across the Kicking Horse River and beautiful Emerald Lake, one of the most admired destinations in Yoho National Park.

Admire the picturesque Lake Louise where you will see the reflection of the Victoria Glacier on the turquoise waters and the iconic Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. Enjoy a relaxing gondola ride to an elevation of 2088 metres with incredible views of the Rocky Mountains and if we are lucky, we may spot a wild grizzly bear.

Day 17: Friday, 19 June 2020Banff - Calgary

Enjoy more of Banff National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site and teeming with wildlife. Watch for moose, elk, grizzly and black bears, bighorn sheep and mountain goats. Stop at Johnston Canyon Falls, Castle Junction and Banff Surprise corner before reaching the town of Banff. Enjoy a scenic drive along Lake Minnewanke, a large glacial lake, 13 miles long and 466 feet deep. For over 100 centuries, people have camped and hunted along the original shores of Lake Minnewanka. The indigenous Stoney-Nakoda people called it “Min-Waki” or “Lake of the Spirits”, because they respected and feared the lake for its resident spirits.

Day 18: Saturday, 20 June 2020Calgary

Set between prairies and peaks, Calgary is a cosmopolitan city within easy reach of the Canadian Rockies. This morning, visit a local Adventist Church for a Sabbath Service and a pot luck lunch afterwards. Alternatively, you may choose to take in the city area near our hotel. In the afternoon, take across Peace Brisbane and through Prince’s Island Park.

This evening dine at the revolving restaurant in Calgary Tower for beautiful sunset views.
