Tour Details

The ultimate holiday to Alaska, the Canadian Rocky Mountains and Mid-Western USA.  Embark on a seven night cruise to Alaska taking in beautiful the Glacier Bay, Inside Passage, Skagway, Juneau and Ketchikan. Wander through the famous Butchart Gardens on Vancouver Island.  Visit Seattle, Whistler and Vancouver and take scenic “The Canadian” train journey through the Rocky Mountains to Jasper National Park.  Tour through Lake Louise and Banff National Park to our last Canadian stop in Calgary.

Fly to Chicago where American and Adventist heritage will come to life in the American mid-west with visits to Andrews University, Battle Creek in Michigan and the Amish and Mennonite areas of Indiana.  Journey to Indianapolis in time for the opening program of the Adventist General Conference Session.  Take the opportunity to participate in daily worships, concerts and select sessions as well as exploring nearby places of interest including the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum.

Seattle is famous for its bustling waterfront, numerous green spaces, and historic neighborhoods. Today, you may choose to take in the city area near our hotel. Alternatively, visit a local Adventist church for a worship program. After lunch, we will take a drive to some local parks and lookout points.

Day 3: Sunday, 7 June 2020Seattle - Cruise Inside Passage

Seattle sits on the slip of land between Puget Sound and Lake Washington, with the Olympic and Cascade Mountains serving as a dramatic backdrop for this oh-so cosmopolitan city. Soar up the futuristic Space Needle and experience the views atop this stunning landmark created for the 1962 World’s Fair.

Check into your comfortable Outside Oceanview Cabin with a picture window (upgrade to Balcony or Mini-Suite at additional cost) on the luxurious Norwegian Jewel Cruise Ship and settle-in for an unforgettable voyage. Day 5: Tuesday, 9 June 2020Juneau, Alaska

No roads lead to Juneau, which gives the Alaskan capital a misty inscrutability. You need to come by air or water, but when you arrive, the place will delight you with its bounty of water, forests, and mountains. Squeezed between the Gastineau Channel and Coast Mountains, Juneau offers a lot of variety in close proximity. The massive Mendenhall Glacier and the immense Juneau Icefields are at its back door. The vast Tongass National Forest stretches away to the northeast.

Day 6: Wednesday, 10 June 2020Skagway, Alaska

In a single year from 1896 to 1897, this remote town along the Inside Passage grew from a few tents to a city of 20,000 gold seekers. Today, travellers come in search of other riches – to experience yesteryear along Skagway’s charming boardwalk lined with buildings that replicate those Gold Rush days.

Take an included shore excursion on an unforgettable journey through rugged terrain, tunnels and valleys en route to the scenic White Pass Summit.

Day 7: Thursday, 11 June 2020Cruise Glacier Bay

Sail to Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve, a United Nations World Heritage Site. Comprised of 3.3 million acres of natural wonders, it is home to magnificent glaciers, snow-capped mountains and abundant birds and wildlife. When a monumental chunk of ice splits off a glacier and thunders into the sea the impact shoots water hundreds of feet into the air. You hold your breath as you catch the moment on film. Then you wait for it all to happen again. And it does: Glacier Bay has more actively calving tidewater glaciers than any place else in the world.

Day 8: Friday, 12 June 2020Ketchikan, Alaska

Ketchikan clutches the shores of the Tongass Narrows, with many shops and houses built right out over the water. The stairways are weathered and the vibe is cheerful in the town that calls itself the Salmon Capital of the World. Its Tlingit Indian name, Kach Khanna, means “spread wings of the eagle.” Chances are you’ll see one of these magnificent birds perched atop a Sitka tree. Thanks to its abundant rainfall, Ketchikan is surrounded by some of the world’s most lush wilderness.

Book one of the cruise ship tour options or join with your group for a walking tour taking Totem Poles, a view over the town from Cape Fox Lodge and a stroll along Creek Street antique boardwalk on wooden pilings over Ketchikan Creek.

Day 9: Saturday, 13 June 2020Victoria

Join with your fellow group members for a morning worship before dining together.

Late afternoon and evening, roam the spacious lawns of stunning Butchart Gardens with its exotic flora, unusual topiary and exquisite fountains. Explore historic Bastion Square, the treasures of Chinatown and the many sights and sounds to be found along the boardwalk of the Inner Harbour.

Day 10: Sunday, 14 June 2020Seattle - Vancouver

Disembark in Seattle Harbour and head to the Canadian border via the scenic Chuckanut Drive, which runs through farmland and along the Puget Sound between the towns of Bow and Bellingham. Travel to Vancouver where majestic mountains, sparkling ocean, rainforests and beautiful foliage throughout all four seasons make it one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Your sightseeing tour upon arrival includes a drive around Stanley Park with stops at interesting places, among them the famous Totem Pole Display at Brockton Point, Canada Place and the waterfront, historic Gastown, Vancouver’s oldest neighbourhood, with its 19th Century buildings, the Steam Clock, cobblestone streets and hidden passageways.

Day 11: Monday, 15 June 2020Vancouver - Capilano River - Grouse Mountain

Today we cross the Lions Gate Bridge to the North Shore and visit the Capilano Suspension bridge, stretching 137 meters across and 70 meters above the Capilano River. Discover the Cliffwalk, a cantilevered walkway clinging to the granite cliff high above Capilano Canyon and Treetops Adventure, seven suspension bridges through the evergreens taking you up to 30 meters above the forest floor. Next you visit Grouse Mountain, “The Peak of Vancouver”. High above towering Douglas firs, breathtaking views of the city of Vancouver, sparkling Pacific Ocean, Gulf Islands and snowy peaks unfold as you journey up the mountainside with the Skyride.

Day 12: Tuesday, 16 June 2020Whistler

You journey to the resort village of Whistler starts with crossing the Lions Gate Bridge to Vancouver’s North Shore. We follow the Sea-to-Sky Highway along beautiful Howe Sound and pass through the coastal community of Britannia Beach. Next stop is Shannon Falls, composed of a series of cliffs rising 335 meters above the Highway, making it British Columbia’s third highest waterfall. Along the route see Stawamanus Chief, the second largest standing piece of granite in the world and popular rock climbing area. Enjoy the charm of the alpine, pedestrianized Whistler Village before you return to Vancouver in the afternoon.

Day 13: Wednesday, 17 June 2020Vancouver - Rocky Mountains

After a morning of free time, you will board VIA Rail’s “The Canadian” Sleeper Touring Class to Jasper National Park. Travel through the Fraser Valley then follow the mighty Thompson River on the ‘Yellowhead’ route past the sprawling grandeur of Mount Robson

Exclusive to Sleeper Touring Class: In the evening attendants transform your quarters into cozy bunks or a bedroom. Visit the Dome Car where you will experience the true essence of travelling by train as a panoramic scene sweeps by. In Sleeper Touring Class some of the amenities include thick towels, plump pillows, cozy down duvets and a shower kit. (Upgrade from a birth to a cabin for extra).

Day 14: Thursday, 18 June 2020Jasper - Lake Louise

In the afternoon, we arrive into the town of Jasper. We travel the Icefield Parkway, one of the world’s most beautiful highways. Here you find more than 100 ancient glaciers, waterfalls cascading from dramatic rock spires and turquoise lakes set in sweeping valleys. On to the town of Lake Louise.

Day 15: Friday, 19 June 2020Lake Louise

Wake up early for sunrise over the beautiful Valley of the Ten Peaks and glacier-fed Moraine Lake – only half the size of Lake Louise, but perhaps even more scenic. Spend the day in the Lake Louse area., Admire this picturesque lake where you will see the reflection of the Victoria Glacier on the turquoise waters and the iconic Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. Enjoy a relaxing gondola ride to an elevation of 2088 metres with incredible views of the Rocky Mountains and if we are lucky, we may spot a wild grizzly bear.

Day 16: Saturday, 20 June 2020Lake Louise - Banff & Yoho National Parks

A day of sightseeing in Banff & Yoho National Park – you journey across the Continental Divide of the America’s into Yoho National Park where you will see the Natural Bridge of Stone across the Kicking Horse River and beautiful Emerald Lake, one of the most admired destinations in Yoho National Park.

Day 17: Sunday, 21 June 2020Banff - Calgary

Enjoy more of Banff National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site and teeming with wildlife. Watch for moose, elk, grizzly and black bears, bighorn sheep and mountain goats. Stop at Johnston Canyon Falls, Castle Junction and Banff Surprise corner before reaching the town of Banff. Enjoy a scenic drive along Lake Minnewanke, a large glacial lake, 13 miles long and 466 feet deep. For over 100 centuries, people have camped and hunted along the original shores of Lake Minnewanka. The indigenous Stoney-Nakoda people called it “Min-Waki” or “Lake of the Spirits”, because they respected and feared the lake for its resident spirits.

This evening dine at the revolving restaurant in Calgary Tower for beautiful sunset views.

Set between prairies and peaks, Calgary is a cosmopolitan city within easy reach of the Canadian Rockies. This morning, we will take a city tour before travelling to the airport for our onward flight to Chicago

Day 18: Tuesday, 23 June 2020Chicago

Defined by the elevated train lines that form a circuit in the heart of the city, the North Loop is Chicago’s downtown area and theatre district. The Loop contains the largest concentration of skyscraper, including the second tallest Chicago Loop Tourbuilding in the United States. Take a walking tour through the Chicago’s North Loop. Learn how the Great Fire of 1871 started and marvel at the modern city that rose upon the ashes. See gems like the iconic Chicago Theatre, Millennium Park and the start of the legendary Route 66.

Day 19: Wednesday, 24 June 2020Andrews University and Battle Creek

This morning visit Andrews University, originally “Battle Creek College” but today the largest christian college or university in Michigan. Travel onto Battle Creek where we will stop at the Oak Hill Cemetery where many Adventist pioneers are buried including the Kellogg brothers and White Family Lot. Next stop is a tour of the Adventist Heritage Center and see where Ellen White lived.

Day 20: Thursday, 25 June 2020Battle Creek

Today, we will visit the site of Sanitarium complex built in 1878 by Dr John Harvey Kellogg and learn about the early history of the breakfast cereal industry. Also, on our itinerary is a stop at the Adventist Heritage Village which provides a wonderful opportunity to explore the local history and architecture of the nineteenth century with its school house, church and a number of historic homes which include the home of Will Kellogg, founder of the Kellogg Company and the James and Ellen White residence.

Late afternoon, we will travel to Shipshewana where you may have some time to discover locally made Artisan items in the specialty shops or reminisce of days-gone-by at the world’s largest collection of classic Hudson automobiles at the Hostetler Hudson Auto Museum.

Day 21: Friday, 26 June 2020Shipshewana - Amish and Mennonite communities

In the morning we will visit Menno-Hof and take a fascinating journey into the unique world and history of the Anabaptists, Mennonites and Amish dating back to the 16th century Protestant Reformation.

Mid-afternoon we will take a guided tour of Amish country culminating in a meal at a local Amish home. We will then travel to Indianapolis in time for the evening music and worship program at the Adventist General Conference Session.

Day 22: Saturday, 27 June 2020Indianapolis - General Conference Session Sabbath Program

Today, you will have free time to join any or all of the Session Sabbath program which may a musical concert, Sabbath School, Divine Service, “The Church in Mission” and an evening program.

Day 23: Sunday, 28 June 2020Connersville, Whitewater Vallery and Historic Metamora

Enjoy a scenic train ride though the Whitewater Valley on the Valley Flyer excursion from Connersville. Relax as you travel back in time to the historic town of Metamora. Visit the working grist mill, restored canal and lock, replica horse drawn canal boat, historic covered aqueduct, shops and restaurants.

On our return to Indianapolis, enjoy a free evening or attend the Session evening program.

Join a tour of Indianapolis including stops at the White River State Park and Eiteljorg Museum, the Oldfield Gardens on the grounds of the Indianapolis Museum of Art.

Day 24: Tuesday, 30 June 2020The Ark Encounter

On the Ark Encounter bus trip, go inside a life-size recreation of Noah’s Ark, built to the specifications in the Bible! See jaw-dropping exhibits inside the Ark and experience pages of the Bible like never before.

The highlight of the Ark Encounter is a full-size Noah’s Ark replica. At 501 feet long, 51 feet high and 85 feet wide, Noah’s Ark is the largest timber-frame structure in the world, built from standing timber, in part by skilled Amish craftsman. Step inside to explore three decks of world-class exhibits about events that led up to, during and after the Great Flood as recorded in the book of Genesis. At the Ararat Ridge Zoo you can meet animals from around the world and discover how they are part of the Noah’s Ark story.
